A blog in which I record my dreams that feature celebrities (quite a regular experience) - for posterity and entertainment's sake.

Kylo Ren Cracks My Back Using the Force
Okay, so that might be a bit sensationalist. I had a dream where I went to the chiropractor and the chiropractor happened to be Adam Driver. He wasn't in his Kylo Ren get up, but he did do my adjustment using the Force (quite comfortable way to have it done, by the way). He was actually really nice and when it came time to leave, he even helped me carry my luggage to my car. I had stopped to get an adjustment before going home to visit my parents and hadn't wanted to leave anything worth stealing in the car. Going into the office, I was able to carry everything with little problem, but when it came time to leave, my things had multiplied and become impossible for me to carry it all. And Adam didn't seem to think it was strange, either that or he was way too nice to say anything. Haha!

Colbert Gives the Cold Shoulder
Last night before bed I watched an episode of "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee". It's a 20 minute show in which Jerry Seinfeld takes a comedian to coffee in a classic car. The cars are drool-worthy - a 1964 Morgan (the frames are made of ash wood!) and 1963 Corvette (the very kind that U. S. astronauts drove) for just a taste. The coffee looks delicious and the conversation is fun and interesting.
The comedian in the episode I watched last night was Stephen Colbert and so, of course, I had a dream with him in it, but considering how sexy he was looking in the episode with his silver beard and wavy hair, it wasn't as pleasant as I would have guessed.
In the dream, I was at an event where Stephen was going to sign canvas bags that were for sale at the event. The line was long and a couple of my friends were way ahead of where I was. I could see people walking away from the table holding veritable works of art; he was drawing little cartoons and pictures before signing his name. Somehow I was both at the end of the line and able to see over his shoulder as he worked. He wasn't very chatty with people, but you could tell he took pleasure in giving people something worth keeping. When I was nearing the front of the line, someone approached me with a saxophone that needed fixing. I got really excited and was jabbering away about how special the saxophone was, because it was a really unique, expensive one. Well, Stephen must not have liked the commotion because when I got to the front and it was my turn to have my bag signed, he asked me what the big deal was and when I told him that I was a repair person he didn't seem very impressed. He ended up drawing a small box near where the handle is sewn in and printing the words "bound to fail" inside of it. He didn't sign it and was very dismissive.
I showed what he had drawn to my friends and they didn't seem to think it was a big deal. Of course, I was unhappy because out of my friends, I was the only one who was a big fan. They didn't even really watch his shows.
/dream
I suppose I can tell where this comes from; it's a combination of having watched the show before bed and that Cary Elwes will be at an event signing books later this month and he will only sign books bought at the event.
Regardless of the dream, I still am a fan of Stephen and I think he is probably nothing like my dream.

The N'Sync of Japan goes on a U.S. Tour
Well, it's been a long time, hasn't it? I've had celebrity dreams since my last entry, but I mostly had them while traveling and you know how quickly dreams leave memory. But last night I finally had a really memorable dream and now I have time to write about it.
Okay, some background information. In Japan, boy bands are still quite popular, even with women and older ladies. Much like the boy bands in the U.S. and Europe, these bands are put together by an agency and they don't actually play anything - they sing, dance and are easy on the eyes. One of the most popular boy bands of all time in Japan is Arashi (嵐). Arashi has 5 members: Satoshi Ohno, Sakurai Sho, Matsumoto Jun, Masaki Aiba and Ninomiya Kazunari. When I lived in Japan, I was an official member of their fanclub and even won the ticket lottery once to see them live in Sapporo Dome.
There is a lot of gear that goes with going to a boy band concert in Japan (or, really, even any pop star or group). Typical fan gear that you can buy at the venue may include uchiwa (non-folding handheld fan) with members' faces on them, bath towels, key rings, pencils, pens, custom light sticks, t-shirts. You name it, really.
These concerts (especially for the really big groups) tend to have a lot of fanfare - acrobatics, tricks, numerous costume changes, audience interaction and fireworks/light shows.
Armed with this knowledge, hopefully this dream won't completely confuse you -- though, to be fair, it is a dream and it IS weird.
Starts out that I am going to an Arashi concert in the U.S. with my friend, Nailz. Even though I feel like I'm "over" Japanese boy bands, I couldn't miss this opportunity to see them one last time. I promise Nailz and myself that I won't spend a lot on merchandise. Somehow, even though after much mental debate, I decide to only get the MatsuJun uchiwa and the group poster, I end up with four shopping bags full.
When it's time to find out seats, we know they'll be in the upper balcony, so we start hiking it up to the nosebleeds, bags of merchandise and all. At the third level balcony, Nailz starts looking for our seats, but I keep going. This isn't my first rodeo and I know that this show always begins with juniors (junior members of the talent agency who haven't debuted yet) will be dancing up at the very top and make their way down the aisles. It's my habit in these dreams to always be at the very top of the seating so that I can see the whole spectacle close-up and what is going on on the stage.
As predicted, the juniors come out with confetti and lots of lights. They dance down the aisles to the lower levels. This is when I decide that I need to use the bathroom. I start unbuckling my belt on the way because suddenly I have to go really badly, but when I get to the doorway, I just as suddenly don't have to go anymore. Could be because I heard the members entering the stage. I hurry back in, forgetting to buckle and zip up my jeans.
By this time, Nailz has found her way up to the top and is shaking her head about my disarray. I tell her that the top is really the best place to see the whole show. We sit down on slanting cement floor where you would think there would be seats. We're enjoying the show when a spotlight flashes past us and up to a few feet behind us and there is Aiba and Nino singing away.
As usual with these dreams, I am (of course) friends with "the guys". They give me a look to say hello and keep singing - which is good because at some point in the past so many minutes, without remembering it, I had started to change into a merchandise t-shirt and gotten disrupted. I am sitting there without a shirt on. No bra, either. Last thing I remember is crossing my arms so that I could hide my boobs.
/dream
Odd thing is that usually when I'm topless in a dream, I don't really care. Ha!

Script ideas for Castle and the result of watching The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
It seems that my celebrity dreams go in spurts. The night after the dream with Matt Damon, I had a dream that I gave a script/plot idea to Nathan Fillion. I was at the VA hospital for some type of check up and I had (for some reason) brought two of my friends with me. One friend is a real life friend and the other one was some random person I don't think I've ever met. Anyway, we waited in the waiting room for what seemed like forever. My name was finally called and the nurse at the reception desk handed me two pieces of mail. I guess this is what I had come there for and I opened up the top letter. It was a chain letter. (Do you remember those? When you'd get one in the U.S. mail and then copy it out 10 times and send it even to people you hardly knew just so you could get all 10 copies mailed and not be cursed to never be kissed?? Man, maybe that's why my love life is always so dead - ha!)
I found it funny to have gotten a chain letter in this day and age, and I addressed everyone in the waiting room by laughing and then asking the general room if they remembered them. (Hm. I see a pattern here - haha!) Anyway, that's when I noticed that a very chubby Nathan Fillion was in the waiting room reading a paper. Even though he was chubby, I still thought he was handsome. I decided to casually suggest that a chain letter could be a plot device in a future episode of Castle. He actually thought that would be really cool.
The rest of the dream was very strange. My friends were mad to have spent 5 hours waiting for me to be done at the VA and then when we went out to the car, it had snowed and this hot model guy (who, in my dream but not in real life, was famous). He had a crappy, little rusted out car that he thought was really cool. My friend used her sleeve to wipe off his entire car. It was one of those little Italian things, so it didn't take much.
The next dream will not be described for modesty's sake, but I will just say that I had a very pleasant dream featuring Armie Hammer after seeing The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Eh heh heh. He is extremely easy on the eyes, that one.

How about them apples?
Bonus points to the person who can name the movie! (Psyche! There are no bonus points on a blog...)
Anyway, the title probably would give a hint about who appeared in my dream last night. That's right, Matt Damon. THE Matt Damon. I know it is because I saw him on Jimmy Kimmel the other night, but I will take his appearance as awesome anyway.
It was kind of a nice dream. Before falling asleep, I had asked my mind to let me have good dreams because I've been having an awful lot of weird and/or serious dreams lately and it's really been harshing my daytime mellow.
Matt was staying with my mom for a bit. From what I could gather from when I arrived home for a weekend visit, he was having problems with his wife and he was really stressed out and had come to my mom's house for recuperation. (I don't know why....this is dreamland, right??) She was up to the task of feeding him home-cooked comfort food and plying him with tea and warm quilts to wrap up in and watch TV and movies. She also was playing counselor as he talked and talked about his feelings.
When I arrived, my mom and I chatted for a while and we were laughing so hard about something (I don't remember what now, of course) that I actually woke myself up giggling in my sleep, but got right back into the dream. Matt asked about what I had been talking about with my mom and instead of answering his question, it felt right to tell him that I often have dreams where certain celebrities are my friends. Some that make frequent appearances include Conan and Benedict Cumberbatch. He thought this was great because he said it must make me more chill around celebrities (he had noticed that I didn't fuss over him just randomly showing up at my mom's house). I said that sometimes I think that I'll come off too casual and friendly when someone doesn't expect it. He said not to worry about that.
I don't remember much else. It was kind of a neat dream. Of course I used to have a huge crush on Matt Damon in the Finding Forrester days, but now I just have a deep respect for him as an intelligent guy. (I love that one interview clip where he completely shuts down a reporter for asking a dumb question about teachers.)

Not another waitressing dream...
But wait, there's more!
So, I had a night that was all one long dream of waitressing at Bakers Square (a pie restaurant I worked at in university). I haven't had a waitressing dream in a long time and as the dream first started, I remember thinking "oh, no, not this again". Time and time again during the dream I tried to change the outcome and what I did, but it was no use, the dream carried on as it always does: it's a busy night, we are short staffed and customers are being sat at tables that haven't even been properly bussed and many people give up on being served and leave disgruntled. I can't seem to manage to even get drinks out to people, much less take orders and so on.
I really hate those dreams, but thankfully there was a small perk near the end. At the end of my shift, I was outside (presumably) waiting for my ride when out comes two customers that had been one of my tables (but somehow they didn't leave even though I never managed to serve them??). The woman, who I see after a second glance is Amanda Palmer, hands me a t-shirt and says that some days are better than others but that hopefully this would make it better. I open the t-shirt and it has the word "sexpresso" on it and the outline of naked bodies make up the letters. Each letter is a different sexual position. The man with Amanda points at the t-shirt and tells me why it's funny. I see that it is none other than Neil Gaiman. I laugh and tell him that, "yeah, I get it Captain Obvious". He laughs too and he and Amanda walk off.
/end dream
Side notes: It's been a while since I've had a dream with a famous person in it. The dreams I have in my new place are much different than the ones I had at my last house. I wonder about that... Anyway - at least my night of waitressing had a happy ending. Heh.
And lastly, I don't know why, but when I watched Stephen Colbert interview Scarlett Johansson last night on the Late Show, I was ... affected to find out that she lived in France and was, in fact, married to a Frenchman. I don't know why, but it just really has been on my mind since then. Weird.

I kissed a girl and I liked it.
Though the title of the post might hint at a Katy Perry dream, in fact it was about Hillary Clinton. In the dream (a short and weird one), Every time Hillary is at a campaign speech, a woman kisses her and she looks shocked and blushes. At one of them, it was Michelle Obama. It was as if these women were just doing it to unsettle/get a rise out of her. So weird. Where do these dreams come from??

Cate Blanchett is an Unforgiving Teacher
Last night I had a dream that I was back in college/high school. (The environment was high school, but the structure of the class was college.) I had come to class and was getting my books and notebook out in preparation for lecture when I notice that everyone is doing the opposite - hurriedly looking over their notes and putting everything away. Just as I was about to ask someone what was going on, the teacher/professor, Cate Blanchett, speaks up from beside me and says that it is the mid-term exam. She's holding a stack of stapled packets of paper. Surprised, I ask when we were told about this and the teacher responds that it is not only on the syllabus, but that last class (which, apparently I hadn't been in) was all review. In my mind, I knew she was right and that I hadn't even read any of the material, much less reviewed it, but out loud I said, "No big deal. This'll be a breeze even without studying." Blanchett gave me a glare and then sneered, "We'll just see about that."
That's about it. I don't remember if the dream ended there or what, but that is good enough. I hate dreams where I'm back in school (of any level) and am caught with having to take a test that I didn't study for... When will I graduate from dream high school, I wonder?
P.S. I woke up this morning and I couldn't think of Cate Blanchett's name, but I remembered that she played Galadriel in LotR. I had to look up her name in IMDB. I've never read the books and have only seen the movie once. How I knew Galadriel before I knew her name is a complete mystery.

So many celebs, so little time.
Normally, I have a dream with a famous guest star about once a week, but while I've been traveling I've had one almost every night. The only problem is that if the dream occurs too close to another dream, I will forget the previous one. Such was the case with my dream featuring Nathan Fillion and the "Castle" crew. Sadly all I can remember is that I had one.
Last night, my luck was not much better. I had a dream that I was having dinner with my friend, Kim, and Chris Hemsworth. I have a cousin that reminds me a lot of him and I was dying to tell him. My friend knew this and kept trying to subtly tell me to not do it. I did anyway and sure enough he was not impressed. He seemed bored and soon, the dinner was over and he was gone. Ha! Should have listened to my friend.

My Wednesday night on TV
I had two very different dreams last night featuring celebrities, but both in the context of the respective TV shows. (I must be missing watching my regular shows.)
The first dream was "Inside Amy Schumer". The dream started out with me showing my real life friend Amy the show (which I've wanted to do since the first time I watched it), but suddenly my friend Amy is Amy Schumer and we're roommates with another girl, too. For some reason, a large part of the dream focuses on what a slob Amy is: she eats in her bed, so there are tons of food crumbs in between her sheets. She doesn't seem to mind and I, of course, thinks it's disgusting but funny. (I did wake myself up laughing a lot during this dream.)
As I mentioned, we have a roommate. She's a super skinny model-type and she brings men home left and right. This particular night, she brings home a guy and a bag of groceries. Because Amy eats in bed we don't think anything of it when she takes the bag into the bedroom with her but when all is said and done, we find out they were using whipped cream as part of their fun and it is rubbed into the carpet in the shapes of the positions they were in. We find it gross and hilarious at the same time. (And I am the only one who wonders how we're going to clean it up.)
The next dream I had is for "black-ish". I'm one of the children in the family and it's my turn to cook. All the other kids are complaining about how bored with normal food they are that I decide to mix things up and have the kids help customize their own food. The oldest girl, Zoey, is loving the idea and going to town with customizing her food to her tastes, but something comes up and we don't get to finish the project. Suddenly we're all in the kitchen together, including Dre's mother. We need to all chip in to get everything made for a big dinner that we're hosting and here's where it gets weird. For some reason, I feel like my contributions are not being taken seriously. In the dream I have evil powers to hurt people. Sometimes, when I get upset, my powers get out of my control. That's exactly what happens in this case. In the dream, Bow is pregnant and when my powers explode, they slice her mid drift in two. I run away in shame and horror at my own powers. After awhile, Dre comes to get me and tell me everything is okay. Somehow, Bow and the baby are alright and everything is good to go for the dinner. I look over the food and when I see that my dish was changed into something else, I secretly get mad.
What whacky dreams...

An elementary kind of dream...
Last night's dream was an unusual one because the only dream I remember is one that seems to have lasted the entire night. While I know that cannot be the case, still, it was odd. I dreamed that I was Watson on Elementary. Being Lucy Liu in my dreams was awesome - I mean, who wouldn't want to be Lucy Liu for just a bit? Anyway, in my dream, I was emotionally confused about Sherlock (of course played by Jonny Lee Miller).
The first part of the dream featured driving around in a little white truck that resembled a kei-tora (a very small truck popular in Asia where the motor is basically a motorcycle engine) and a golf cart. It was winter and it was cold. We were running errands and Sherlock was driving. For some reason I was in the left, back seat and the steering wheel was on the right side of the car. I meekly asked if I could come and sit next to Sherlock where I knew it would be warmer, but he told me that it was safer for me in the backseat in case of collision.
We were running errands, but I didn't know quite what for. Then, as if it were a TV show, I saw a flashback of when Sherlock was in England and he had been a teenager. He had been driving a lorry and while in the countryside, found an abandoned child. Feeling bad for the child, he had picked it up unconscious. When the child awoke, it turned into a hell-child and it was all he could do to defend himself from it. It had a razor on a string that it was very good at wielding. After a struggle, Sherlock managed to turn the blade on the child and it scalped him. All this struggle had happened while the truck was in motion. And after the razor cut the child, he fell by the wayside and Sherlock continued to drive away.
Flashforward back to my dream. Sherlock somehow knows that the child did not die, but is in fact in New York and looking for revenge. When the grown child appears, the top of his head is bald and scarred where the razor had cut off his scalp. He's hard to miss. Because I had strong feelings for Sherlock, I tried to fend off the hell-child. He was very strong. In the dream, I could do Charlie's Angels-like moves (Lucy was in that too!), but he bested me at every step. Eventually, I knew he was going to get to Sherlock. It was right at the moment of confrontation that I woke up.
Somewhere in the dream, I told Sherlock that I was moving in order to gauge how he felt about me. His disappointment was palpable even though he said nothing. My heart fluttered, but I still knew that he would make no move to stop me or let me know how he felt.
It was such an involved dream that it left me with a dream hangover. It cast a surreal pall on the day.

It's all a blur...
I have been having so many dreams lately that I have a hard time remembering details of them. Even when I take a short nap, I dream. I do remember that a night last week I had a really star-studded dream. I can remember cameos by Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Peter Boyle and Jonny Lee Miller at least. I know there were more, but their names and faces were gone by morning. The contents of the dream were also lost. Sad. I like having many vivid dreams, but I guess the downside is not being able to remember them clearly or for more than a few minutes in the time between sleeping and waking. Is that the epitome of not being able to have your cake and eat it too??

Hanging in the mall with NSYNC
Last night I had a dream that I was hanging out at a mall with the members of NSYNC. Well, the members minus Justin Timberlake. Mostly, I hung out with Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick. The mall was really crowded and I had to run around a lot for some unknown reason. In the basement of the mall, the band members had built a jungle gym of sorts with a cast iron balance beam above a mud pit. The members would be chest deep in the muddy water next to the balance beam to catch you if you fell. You were supposed to do this strange sashay on the beam. My sister was there and she was really good at it, but she fell on purpose to get caught by JC.
I kept having to run from the basement to the first floor and I had to go a certain route between the two places. Near the end of the dream, I wanted to tell them that the whole reason we were friends was because I had dreamt long ago that we were. Things kept coming up - obstacles to telling them about my dreams. Finally I got to tell them, and even though I was trying not to make it sound creepy, it totally came off that way. In the end they seemed to just sum it up to me being socially awkward. Heh.
As a side note, on one of my trips to the basement I came across a broken old-fashioned milk bottle and (yes I know this is weird, but maybe it is because of all the news stories recently about similar instances) shoved it down my pants. When I showed it to Lance, he went nuts and was telling me how it was this rare bottle and that even broken it was worth a lot of money.
I know there was more odd stuff to this dream, but as usual, most of them have faded throughout the morning.

Dame Maggie Smith Guides Me Through the World of the Rich
Recently I haven't had many celebrity dreams. I started taking a prescription allergy medication and for a while I was having dreams unlike any I had had before. Not bad, but different. And I seemed to forget them sooner than usual.
Finally, last night I had a memorable celebrity dream.
In the dream I had just moved in to a mansion to live with a young couple and extended family. The young couple had a son. The son was about 2 years old and was sickly. The parents had hired all kinds of people to take care of the child - everyone from personal nurse maid to a resident clown. Everyone wore ornate garments in pastel colors, including the clown. I don't know why I was there, but Maggie Smith was showing me around and the rules of the house. There were no windows on the 1st floor, but when you went up to the second floor, there were huge windows stretching from floor to ceiling on all four walls. It was a rule of the house that when you went upstairs, you had to take a small flag made of silver threads and wave it at the sun from every window or it would be bad luck.
I must have been hot because at the end of the dream (I was wearing my plush fleece bunny-suit PJs, so...) because there were these big, taller than me, mounds of snow at the bottom of the staircase leading upstairs and Maggie Smith and I both hugged a mound of snow. The cold snow felt so good. I wanted to ask her if she had ever made a snow angel, but I thought it might be a silly thing to ask a proper rich lady like her.

A Star-studded Road Trip
I had a dream last night that I was headed out on a road trip with friends. We were doing a caravan of one van and one car. In the van were most of my friends and Benedict Cumberbatch and I was stuck in the car with some guy I didn't really know. He was a hipster, but not exactly the good kind. (I know some people could argue that there is no such thing as a good kind of hipster, anyway...)
Benedict didn't have a large part in the dream, but he piled out of the van with everyone else every time we made a pit stop for gas or food. To be honest, it was kind of a boring cameo, but I did feel a bit pouty because (of course) in my dream, I was friends with Ben, too
We stopped for the night at a youth hostel (does the U.S. even have those?) and it was mixed dormitory-style. We had gotten there late and so we were stumbling through the room, tripping on people's stuff. I tripped over the edge of one guy's bed and when he sat up to grunt at me it turned out to be William Shatner. He made some desultory comments about my IQ and went back to bed. (End cameo.)
The weirdest thing about this hostel was that the toilet was right in the center of the room and there were no walls for privacy. It was just out in the open, so you could hear people peeing in the middle of the night. Weird for sure. (I think my bladder may have been trying to get my attention - ha!)
The next morning it was time to pack up and get out of town. We would arrive at our destination that day (though I don't know where we were headed, to be honest). Normally in these types of dream situations, I have a bunch of stuff spread all over the place and then it somehow doesn't all fit back into my bag, but this time packing up was easy and I had room left over in the bag. I felt like I was forgetting something (probably quite large that shouldn't be able to fit back into my bag).
Walking out of the hostel, we came out onto a wide open green. Out of nowhere, we hear yelling and a bugle-like call and in come two men on horses as if to joust, but what really happens is that the tall guy scoops the other short guy off of his horse and carries him to "home base" to win the bout. The tall guy turned out to be Conan O'Brien and the short guy Adam Carolla (which is funny because he's actually tall. Does anyone remember him from Loveline?). Conan was going to be joining us on the road trip, but at this point I woke myself up laughing, so who knows where we were headed and why.

Adam Sandler and Neil Patrick Harris - you'd be surprised which one was the better dream...
I haven't had very many celebrity dreams lately, but this week I had two.
Monday or Tuesday, I had a dream where Adam Sandler made a cameo. We were coworkers at an instrument repair shop and he was working on a rosewood oboe bell - something about the tonehole for the low B was not right. Then, an intellectually-disabled (did you know that's the politically-correct term now? I didn't - I had to look it up. Good to keep up with the times, I guess...) tall guy who co-starred with him in a movie a few years back came in holding a basketball. He wanted Adam to play basketball with him and kept calling him Nick. Even in my dream I was confused. You see, I haven't watched many Adam Sandler movies and I don't remember him ever being called Nick. The last movie I saw him in was "The Wedding Singer" in 1998. I see from IMDb that he was in a movie called "Little Nicky" though, so I wonder if that is where that came from. Anyway - it was an unexpected cameo and not unpleasant.
The dream featuring Neil Patrick Harris is longer and more detailed (and therefore more convoluted). He first appeared in the dream picking up me and some 10-11 year-old boy (who was apparently a mutual friend of ours?) to go to a matinee, but we didn't like the movie, so he hired a taxi to go for a drive. There seemed to be no destination in mind - we just rode in the taxi. NPH was in the front seat and he kept smirking back at us when he talked to us. About this time, the boy disappeared, he had kind of been the one talking and once he left, the car was pretty quiet. Eventually, we arrived at a busy arcade-type place. I went in and NPH says he's going to leave because this has been boring. I grabbed his arm (he's in a suit, by the way - of course!) and tell him that I normally am not this boring and to please not leave. He says okay, but he needed to go somewhere and he'd be back. You know how dreams get really weird, well, things get even weirder from here. While he was gone, I was in some kind of line to get into someplace, but because I was waiting for him, I just let everyone go in front of me. There was a refrigerator there and I open the freezer door. In the freezer was a hot salmon steak (yeah, I know...) and I started eating it bit by bit. I knew that it was NPH's but at this point I kind of got the feeling he wasn't coming back, so I figured "hey, at least I'll get to eat this delicious salmon steak".
I ended up leaving the building and walking down the road to another building - except it wasn't a building - it was like a square made of bricks, but it was solid. There was a rickety wooden ladder leading to the roof. I felt like I know this building from other dreams. I started climbing the ladder and it was seriously scary. The wood felt like it was going to break under my hands and feet. I tried to grip and step in just the right places. Near the top of the ladder there was a sign that said to stay focused on climbing, otherwise "screaming falling death may occur". Not even kidding. In my head I remembered that every year so many kids die screaming falling deaths from climbing this ladder. I nearly let go of the ladder in fear.
Once I got to the top, I see there is a basketball and a tennis court. I wasn't interested in those, so I climbed through a door under my feet. Turns out there is a Dunkin' Donuts in one corner of the solid brick building. I climbed down into the store and I'm tired. I wanted coffee, but it was afternoon and I was worried I wouldn't be able to sleep that night. I got a decaf canned coffee (oh, Japan! I miss your canned coffee!) and a donut because you got a special deal when you did that. While browsing, I saw the boy who we went to the matinee with and he asked, "Where is Neil?". I tell him what happened and he said "You know he did this on purpose....So that you would stop bothering him." I was hurt and mad, but not surprised by it because I had suspected it all along. The boy left again and I went to pay for my items and lo-and-behold there is NPH as the cashier. I drop my items in shock and then we both start trying to punch the other person. He grabs his coat from behind the counter and tries to run away. I yell after him "You are the biggest coward I have ever met!". That stops him and he comes back with a reticent look on his face, as if I had found out his game and he felt like an a-hole. I pay for my items and leave as if none of it had affected me in the least.
So yeah. That was the dream with Neil Patrick Harris. I'm sad it wasn't sexy or at least nice. He's so cute and seemingly a good guy in real life.... I think my subconscious is still working out some stuff from my last crush(ing - ha!) experience this past spring. I think it is better to work it out that way rather than think about it during the day though, so...win??

November 30: A busy week for dreams
I've had quite a few dreams since my last post. I've prioritized other things in front of updating this blog - I know, I know. How could I? So, before I forget more details than I already have, here are this last week's celebrity dream cameos:
Tom Selleck appeared in my dream as a stripper whose theme was being an electrician. Of course, the Tom Selleck in my dream was not that of the "Blue Bloods" era, but more of the "Magnum P.I." age. The strange thing was, he didn't strip. He was dressed like a stripper (with the utility belt and bare chest), but he just stood at the end of the stage and told terrible electrician jokes about climbing log poles.
Carson Daly made an appearance the same night. You know Carson Daly - he used to be on MTV (is it sad that is the last thing I remember him from??). In my dream he was featured in a newspaper article about the resurgence of the New Kids on the Block. Yes, my subconscious put Carson Daly in NKotB AND made them all appear as if they haven't aged a day since 1984.
Just the other night, both Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor Swift made appearances. The Michelle Pfeiffer one was especially confusing and odd. In the dream I was Michelle, but not. And I was trying to make some dude jealous by purposely getting caught red-handed with another guy. The guy I chose reminded me a lot of Greg Grunberg, but I don't think it qualifies as an appearance. We joked about how there was no way I was 37 like I was claiming. (Michelle is 56 years old, but I bet she could get away with 45!) At the point where when it gets down to the nitty gritty, the condom was always faulty in some way. I've had similar dreams before where it gets to that point and then the dream ends. This time it was because I went to the bathroom to look for a usable condom, realized I had to pee and I woke up to use the loo.
Taylor Swift's appearance was brief, but pleasant. In the dream, we were friends and just hanging out, talking about boys. I suppose I had that dream because I had surprised (and shamed? *points accusatory finger) my sister that evening by revealing that "Shake It Off" (a song she has been jamming out to unsuspectingly) is a Taylor Swift song. Ha!
Also, a while back, I had a dream that I was in a movie with Jon Stewart. I'd been watching :The Daily Show: every night and he's been promoting his movie "Rosewater", so that's where that came from I'm sure.

A brief dream history...
Now that I've made the first "real-time" post about a celebrity dream cameo, I figure I should give a little bit of background.
Ever since I was about 18 years old, I've had dreams featuring celebrities on a regular basis. Mostly, the dreams feature male celebrities or famous people. This makes sense as I am a woman and of the straight persuasion. The best thing about these dreams, however, are that they are so very "normal". There is not much fooling around. These dreams seem to be my subconscious taking someone who I've never met and putting them together with me in a situation that is as normal as a dream can get.
I have my favorites from the past:
The dream where I was standing in line to go to a movie with Bill Clinton, but my fiance, Joe Pesci, got jealous and dragged me away. I remember that he got me this huge engagement ring and every time I opened a door or grabbed onto something, it would clink really loudly.
The dream where Paul Hogan (that's right, Crocodile Dundee) and I were walking romantically on the beach at sunset. (No other details available. *waggles eyebrows* Just kidding - all my dreams are pretty clean...)
Any number of the appearances that Benedict Cumberbatch has made as the guy who always needs to borrow my Starbucks tumbler and I never want to lend it to him because he might not bring it back.
The time Miley Cyrus and my cousin were spies for opposing countries, but Miley didn't know I was my cousin's cousin and she told me of her plan to assassinate him on the beach using old-fashioned land mines hidden in the sand.
There are more, of course, but I did say "brief history". I've always had a very colorful, interesting "dream life" as far back as I can remember. I often wake myself up with my own laughter or when I start to say something especially important to the dream aloud. Sometimes I can fly and lately I can change a dream if I don't like the way it is going. Often I will have serial dreams where it will build on a previous dream or set of dreams. I guess it makes going to bed something to look forward to. :)

November 20, 2014: Ashton Kutcher comes for a visit
Last night I had a dream that Ashton Kutcher had a "cameo" in. Unfortunately, I had forgotten about the dream until mid-morning when I was in class and it popped into my head. Because I didn't think about it until then, the details are a bit fuzzy; the most important thing in the dream seemed to be that Ashton had come over to stay the night (I think he was just staying the night on his way to somewhere else, kind of like a layover??), but my roommate and I had been gone over the weekend and we had left our place a mess. I decided to try to vacuum the carpet at least (the carpet, by the way was this terrible bright blue and it was that textured/patterned shag that was popular in the '80s), but my roommate had clothes strewn everywhere - there were an awful lot of bras and panties around...
Ashton didn't seem to mind the mess and he got right into his flannel pajamas and was walking around barefoot. I was mortified at the thought of crumbs and stuff sticking to the bottoms of his feet and continued to vacuum the floor even though it was late at night. I can't remember much else except that Ashton was impressed by how quiet, yet powerful my vacuum was. (Yes, I am quite impressed myself.)
Observations:
It's funny how my dreams take elements from the previous day and mix them up into odd dreams. I don't know where the Ashton part came from, but the vacuum part came from my discussion with my classmates of my beautiful Filter Queen vacuum and how much I love to vacuum. Also, I don't have a roommate, but in my dream one of my friends from Japan, Lisa, was my roommate. :)
